A LITTLE OLD-FASHIONED WISDOM FOR THE MODERN WORLD   ❦   WOMEN CARING FOR WOMEN
The agony aunt, reimagined for today

Dear heart, you needn't face it alone.

Once, women wrote to the agony aunt in newspaper advice columns, sharing worries they could scarcely tell anyone else. We are bringing that beautiful idea into the present: a circle of modern women offering a listening ear, honest perspective and old-fashioned kindness, without judgement.

“We believe in straightening another woman's crown without telling the world it was ever crooked.”

An old-fashioned kindness, beautifully wrapped

For the woman who loves old-fashioned things.

And deserves a little old-fashioned kindness. Know someone who would smile at a handwritten letter, a thoughtful parcel, and a little wisdom from the Aunt she never had? A letter or care package makes a thoughtful surprise: tell us a little about her, and her Aunt will prepare something personal.

Or give her the experience of writing to an Aunt herself. Choose a printable gift voucher for a letter, Kindness in a Box or Tea with Your Aunt. After payment, we’ll email it to you to print or pass on, and she can share her own story or arrange her conversation when she gets in touch.

Who we are

Different women. Different stories. One shared promise.

We love old letters, teacups and the occasional vintage dress. But our Aunts are women of today. Different ages, backgrounds, identities and paths through life, united by one simple belief: every woman deserves to be heard.

Inspired by the old advice-giving agony aunt, we bring together coaching knowledge and hard-won experience of careers, relationships, reinvention and life's messier chapters.

We listen without judgement. Come with a broken heart, a big decision or simply the wish for someone kind to write back. We'll be here to help straighten your crown, quietly.

With care, The Society of Aunts ♡

The women behind the wisdom

An Aunt of your very own.

Different women. Different stories. One shared kindness.

We come from different generations, cultures, identities and walks of life, with coaching knowledge and hard-won experience of relationships, careers, heartbreak and new beginnings. What unites us is simple: we care for other women without judgement.

Whatever season of life you're in, tell us what's on your mind. We'll help you find an Aunt whose perspective feels right, for a thoughtful letter or an unhurried conversation.

A word from your Aunt.

My dearest,

It has been a little while. How are you keeping? I imagine you have a story or two to tell, and I should very much like to hear them.

Write to me about whatever has been on your mind: a hope, a question, a decision, or something you’ve been longing to say aloud. You needn’t make a tidy story of it for my sake. We can sort through the tangled bits together.

Take your time, dear heart. You don’t have to decide everything today. Sometimes it helps simply to tell someone, and let them think it over with you.

I shall look forward to your letter. The kettle is on.

With affection,
Your Aunt ♡

A few thoughtful questions

Is this therapy or professional counselling?

No. The Society offers non-clinical personal guidance, lived-experience mentoring and supportive correspondence. Individual Aunts may also offer life coaching where accurately qualified and described. We do not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions, and this service is not a substitute for qualified counselling, psychotherapy, psychological or medical care, or crisis services.

Who are the Aunts?

We are a circle of women from different walks of life, offering perspective from lived experience and, where applicable, specific coaching training. Each available Aunt's background and qualifications are shared honestly before you choose.

Can I choose my Aunt and keep writing to her?

Tell us what you're navigating and what kinds of life experience matter to you. We'll do our best to recommend an Aunt whose perspective feels right, and let you know who will be replying before you begin. You are very welcome to keep corresponding with the same Aunt, subject to her availability. And if you would like a different perspective or another Aunt's take on something, you can always ask to write to someone else.

Can I give this experience as a gift?

Yes. Choose “A gift for someone” on the order page. For a surprise letter or box, tell us about her and the encouragement she might appreciate. If you’d rather let her write about her own life, choose a printable gift voucher for any of our experiences, including Tea with Your Aunt. After payment, we’ll email the voucher to you to print or give to her. She can then contact us to write to her Aunt or arrange her conversation. Preparation of her letter or box begins once we have her request and the details needed to prepare it. We’ll confirm the details and any postage or shipping with you before payment.

When will my order be prepared and delivered?

Your Aunt will prepare your order as soon as possible. The Sealed Letter and Kindness in a Box will be posted from Ireland within three working days after your order and payment are confirmed. Your Digital Letter will be emailed within the same time. Tea with Your Aunt is arranged by appointment.

Postal delivery time is additional to preparation time. An Post’s general Standard International guideline is 3–7 working days after posting. For Europe, the USA and Canada, we’ll confirm the current estimate for your destination and chosen service by email before you pay. These are estimates, not guaranteed arrival dates; local postal services, busy periods and customs clearance can add time. Parcels outside the EU may also incur customs charges.

What if I need my order for a particular date?

Need it for a particular date? Tell us your deadline in your request. We can check faster An Post or courier options, where available, and confirm any extra cost before payment. We’ll always confirm the total, postage or shipping, and payment details by email before you pay. Working days exclude weekends and public holidays.
